Simulation Control Files
Two input files govern the overall execution of an ADS-IDAC simulation run. They control where the code finds its data and when it stops simulating sequences.
Files in This Section
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
ZCtrlPar.txt | Defines the sequence truncation criteria: a probability threshold below which a sequence is abandoned, and a maximum simulation time in seconds (overridable per run with --truncation-time). Lives at Input/Scheduler/ZCtrlPar.txt. |
ZiniADS.txt | Optional defaults file for the --project-dir / --input-deck command-line options, read from the working directory if present. Modern runs normally pass both paths on the command line instead. |
Role in the Simulation
The project directory and RELAP deck are given on the command line (--project-dir, --input-deck), with ZiniADS.txt as an optional source of defaults. Once the simulation begins, ZCtrlPar.txt governs the lifetime of each sequence branch:
- Branches whose probability falls below
Truncation_probabilityare terminated immediately. - All branches are terminated at
simulation_end_timeregardless of status. - Individual sequences may also end early due to an
A_ENDSEQ_alarm or aVSTOPnon-response action.
RELAP deck consistency
The simulation_end_time in ZCtrlPar.txt must be less than or equal to the maximum end time specified in the RELAP 200-series control cards. Exceeding the RELAP end time will cause errors at runtime.
